Nordic Absolute Return Fund targets to generate a positive return at low risk. The Fund invests in financial assets predominantly in the Nordic region, but its investment geography also entails the rest of Europe.
Nordic Absolute Return Fund is an open-ended umbrella unit trust authorised in Ireland by the Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority persuant to the provisions of the Unit Trust Acts 1990 and any regulations made thereunder. It is a long/short equity hedge fund with a primary objective to invest in long term stock market trends, both rising and falling. The Fund can therefore, over time, be expected to have significant exposure varying between being net positive and negative.
The fund is made up of initially one Sub-Fund. The proceeds from the issue of the Units or classes of Units in a Sub-Fund shall be applied in the records and accounts of the Fund for that Sub-Fund and the assets and liabilities and income and expenditure attribution thereto shall be applied to that Sub-Fund subject to the provisions of the Trust Deed.
Investment decisions are based on fundamental research with focus on company management, cash flow and growth. Investments are made in companies that comply with these criteria at the same time as valuations are deemed attractive. Long positions are normally held for three to twelve months. In order to limit potential losses at times of negative performance of the Fund, strict stop loss rules are implied.
The Fund also uses derivatives and short strategies in order to improve the management and enhance performance. Moreover, significant attention is devoted to risk control.
Alsback Förvaltning AB is the investment manager of the Fund.
